Katie Wenninger, M.S.W., LISW-S, is an independently licensed social worker with supervisory designation who is committed to providing mental health services for individuals navigating their wellness journeys. She earned her Bachelor’s Degree in Social Work from The University of Saint Francis in Fort Wayne, Indiana, in 2017.

Katie then moved to Saint Paul, Minnesota, where she earned her Master’s Degree in Social Work through a joint program at The University of Saint Thomas and St. Catherine University in 2018. Since that time, she has provided mental health services across multiple settings and populations.

Throughout her education and clinical training, Katie completed internships and independent studies focused on children with developmental disabilities and autism, adults with persistent mental illness, military populations, and trauma-informed care.

Her professional background includes home-based, community-based, and clinic-based care. She began her career in Minnesota working with adults in group homes who had complex, persistent mental illnesses, where she focused on behavior management and provided psychotherapy as needed. She later worked in community-based practice providing behavior management, social skills development, individual therapy, and family therapy for children ages 3 to 18 with ADHD and autism.

After returning to Ohio, Katie continued her work in community mental health, supporting adults with a range of mental health concerns. At Toledo Counseling & Mental Health, she works with youth and adults ages 6 and up, offering psychotherapy and counseling services tailored to each client’s needs.

Outside of her clinical work, Katie enjoys spending time with family, friends, and her two cats. She also enjoys working out, sewing, crocheting, spending time in nature, reading, listening to podcasts while cooking or baking, and volunteering with a local nonprofit ministry that supports grieving parents and families through the loss of infants and children.
